The Project

The installation features a powerful 60kW Ocular Titan DC Charger, integrated into the Exploren public charging network for enhanced accessibility and convenience. This isn’t just about adding another charger – it’s about creating a stress-free charging experience for EV drivers.

With Exploren’s advanced software, Perkin Electrical can effortlessly monitor and manage chargers remotely, ensuring chargers remain operational at all times. Powered by 75kW of solar energy, these chargers offer an eco-friendly solution. Meanwhile, EV drovers can enjoy a smooth charging experience with the user friendly Exploren app, making payment and charging quick and hassle-free.

Perkin Electrical’s Journey

Ten years ago, Perkin Electrical had the unique opportunity to partner with Tesla in building the first Tesla dealership in Cremorne, Melbourne. This milestone led director Jack Perkins to become Victoria’s first certified Tesla installer. Witnessing the rapid rise of the EV industry, his passion for advancing EV infrastructure only grew, driving Perkin Electrical’s decision to move from only installing chargers to owning and operating. His company is now able to draw passive income as people charge their vehicles at this public charging station.

Perkin Electrical has a longstanding history with Exploren, built on trust and clear communication. So, when the decision was made to replace the inoperable EV charger at Ocean Grove, choosing Exploren’s advanced software for efficient management was the obvious choice. After installing chargers for a number of years Perkin Electrical have now finally been able to generate revenue from their chargers thanks to the Exploren platform which allows them to set tariffs and manage payments effortlessly.
