Forbes Shire Council is stepping into the future with the installation of new EV chargers, powered by Exploren. This isn’t just about keeping up with technology – its about creating opportunities for the community, supporting sustainability, and making Forbes a welcoming destination for EV drivers.
The Project
The installation includes a 60kW Ocular Titan DC Dual Port Charger and two Ocular IQ Commercial AC chargers, all connected to Exploren’s public charging network. Exploren’s platform gives the council tools to monitor and manage the chargers effectively, while drivers enjoy a simple way to pay and charge through the Exploren app. Forbes Mayor, Phyliss Miller, expressed her enthusiasm for what the project brings to this town.
By installing this in Forbes, we are encouraging more electric vehicles and travellers to our community and to stay for a while when they stop to charge their vehicles.

This installation is part of the council’s Energy Action Plan, which focuses on cutting emissions, lowering costs, and creating a community that adapts to the uptake of EVs.
- Chargers installed: 1x Ocular Titan 60kW DC Dual Port Charger + 2x Ocular IQ Commercial AC Chargers
- Exploren’s role in this project: Exploren is the public charging network the chargers are connected to. It enables Smart Management of the charger for Forbes Council and the ability to take and process payments from users.
